Encouraging Bookings For Kanguva In Telugu States

Suriya's last starring film Esarukum Tunindavan (ET) was released in March 2022 but was a massive flop at the box office. After two years and eight months, his next is the action-fantasy epic Kanguva, which will be released on November 14. Siva of Sauryam and Siruthai fame has directed the film to great fanfare. 

Suriya, Siva and team have been touring the country extensively over the past few weeks to promote the film. The team has held several events and promoted the film on a large scale, especially in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Judging by the early booking trends, the team's aggressive promotion seems to be successful in both the Telugu states. Bookings for early shows (i.e. 8 AM) on the first day in Vizag, Vijayawada, Guntur and Hyderabad look very encouraging as the occupancy is already very good. Full bookings in Hyderabad will begin tomorrow and bookings for all shows on the first day are expected to be similar to the early shows. 

The Hindi version of the film is scheduled to release in multiplexes across the country. As per the current rules for releasing the Hindi version in multiplexes across the country, the film will not be released on digital/OTT platforms for at least eight weeks from November 14th. Kanguva is the only crazy Tamil film in recent times that has opted for an eight-week theatrical release window to release its Hindi version in multiplexes. 

Suriya's popularity among audiences across the country, the recent goodwill of audiences towards well-made event films and the massive promotional efforts of the team are likely to have a positive impact on the box office collections in not only Tamil and Telugu but also Hindi and play well.
