Pushpa 2: The Rule is a role and a film tailor-made for Allu Arjun to realise his full potential. However, critics have complained that director Sukumar has not designed the other characters properly just to highlight the character of Pushpa. One example is Fahadh Faasil's role. Because of the introduction he got in the first part, people were expecting him to become the real villain in the second part.
Fast forward to now, many felt that Fahadh's role in Pushpa was inconsistent and completely underutilised. Fahadh's 20-minute character portrayal in the first part of Pushpa is more effective compared to his performance in Pushpa 2, this is true.
His role in the sequel sometimes felt more like a comedian or prankster than a formidable opponent to Pushpa. Now we all remember that Fahadh made it very clear from the beginning that this was not a game-changing role for him. Fahadh has already revealed in a recent interview that Pushpa has done nothing for him and that he did this film only to work with Sukumar.
"I don't think Pushpa has done anything for me." "I am very honest and I have no intention of hiding it. I don't think the people of Pushpa are expecting any magic from me. It is a pure collaboration for love for Sukumar sir. My thing is here (Malayalam) and I am doing my thing here," Fahadh Faasil said.
This suggests that Fahadh did this film for the money, to get a chance to make his mark and work with the best minds in the industry. Perhaps the same reason has kept him away from promotion.
The million-dollar question now is whether he'll return to the Third Division.
