Sukumar reviews Game Changer
Ram Charan and Sukumar are working together for the second time after Rangasthalam. At the event, Sukumar revealed that he had watched the film with Ram's father, actor Chiranjeevi. He shared his feelings at the time: "I watched the film with Game Changer Chiranjeevi sir. So I would like to make my first criticism. The first half is brilliant." A break, a blockbuster. Trust me. The flashbacks in the second half gave me goosebumps, it was phenomenal. I enjoyed it as much as Shankar's Gentleman and Bharatiyadu (The Indian)."
The director also claimed that he had hoped Ram would win a National Award for his performance in Rangasthalam, and while that didn't happen, he hopes the film will fulfil that dream. "I was confident Charan would win a National Award for Rangasthalam, and so were others. But the way he conveyed his emotions in the climax of the film made me feel that way again. "He played very well and I'm sure he'll win a National Award," he said.
Upcoming Works
Sukumar recently directed Pushpa 2: The Rules starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil. Though the film was a big hit at the box office, the lead actor has been in legal trouble since its release. A mass panic broke out at the film's premiere on December 4, leaving a woman dead and a boy hospitalized. Arjun, who was present at the premiere, was charged by the police and the Telangana state government. He was arrested and released on bail.
Charan will play the lead role in the director's next film, marking their second collaboration after Rangasthalam. At the event, Sukumar said, "I love all the heroes I work with as we've worked together for at least three years. But once the film releases, I lose contact with most of them." Charan is the only exception as I continued to stay in touch with him even after Rangasthalam. He is my brother. I love him more than anything. We meet often and discuss many things."
