Is Balakrishna Really Out of Rajinikanth’s Big Sequel?

Since the announcement of the highly awaited sequel Jailer 2, there have been many rumors in the Kollywood industry about Nandamuri Balakrishna, a famous Telugu actor, playing a special role as a strong police officer. The director, Nelson Dilip Kumar, has written a role that fits Balakrishna's style and image very well.

Because of his good relationship with Rajinikanth, many people thought Balakrishna would take the role.
But recent news says that the makers have now chosen Vijay Sethupathi instead. Vijay has already started filming his part in the ongoing Goa schedule. Tamil media reports that Vijay agreed to the role after Balakrishna said he couldn't take it because of his busy schedule.

Earlier, there were rumors that Fahad Fasil, known for Pushpa, would replace Balakrishna.
But now it looks like Vijay Sethupathi is the one who will play the role that was meant for Balakrishna. This change might mean the end of the mystery about whether Balakrishna will be in the sequel or not.

Jailer 2 has already brought in a lot of big names from different languages.
Artists like Vidya Balan, Shivaraj Kumar, Mithun Chakraborty, Mohan Lal, and SJ Surya have joined the cast. Vijay Sethupathi is the latest to be added to this impressive list.

The movie is being made by Sun Pictures and the music will be composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
It is expected to release in the middle of 2026.
