SPB Statue At Ravindra Bharathi: Why Are People Protesting?

SP Balasubrahmanyam is one of the most talented singers the Indian film industry has ever had. He has sung over 40,000 songs and is loved and respected by people all over South India and beyond.

Recently, the Telangana government set up a statue of SPB at the famous Ravindra Bharathi in Hyderabad.
But some people protested against it. These protesters claimed to be part of the Telangana movement and said only Telangana artists like Gaddar or Ande Sri should be honored there.

They said SPB is not from Telangana and therefore doesn’t deserve a statue at that place.

However, many people on social media strongly disagree.
They believe SPB is a true son of the Telugu states and it’s sad to see so much division over a legend who brought worldwide recognition to Telugu music.

One user mentioned that when people from Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and even Hindi-speaking areas proudly celebrate SPB as their own, it’s heartbreaking to see Telugu people opposing his legacy in his own home region.
