The ongoing conflict between Iran and the United States is causing a lot of worry around the world.
International trade and tourism are taking a big hit. Now, this conflict is also affecting Mahesh Babu and Rajamouli's film, Varanasi.
Interestingly, the film was planned to be shot in different countries.
The makers had planned to shoot some important scenes abroad.
But now, because of safety concerns and fewer flights from Dubai and the Arab Emirates, traveling overseas isn't really an option.
Also, the safety of the big names in the film – like Mahesh, Priyanka Chopra, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Rajamouli, and others – is a big concern.
So, the filming schedule has been put on hold for now.
Instead, the team is moving to a local set in Hyderabad. They used this location earlier for NTR’s Devara, where they shot some key action scenes involving water. This is their new plan, and they have adjusted the schedule to start with these local shoots.
The team is keeping a close watch on what's happening globally.
They might go back to shooting abroad once things get better. Since they've already shot some parts in places like Antarctica and Africa, they can afford to shoot some scenes in Hyderabad for now.
But Rajamouli is a very picky filmmaker.
He likes to shoot in real places. This was the case with his earlier film, RRR.
Right now, his main goal is to shoot in real locations, but due to the current situation, he has to use sets for now.
However, he's very serious about the quality of the film and wouldn’t hesitate to reshoot scenes if they aren’t up to his standards.
