When asked about her creative choices, Mrunal made a statement that has sparked mixed reactions online.
"I must first say that I have rejected, with a big and heavy heart, many big-budget, well-packaged films due to the benchmark set by the roles Sita Mahalakshmi [Sita Ramam] and Yashna [Hi Nanna]," she said.
While it's understandable that Mrunal has a strong stance when choosing her projects, her recent work doesn't seem to reflect the same quality.
Some social media users have pointed out that she has done films like Son of Sardar 2 and Dewane Sher Anevi, which lack creative brilliance and underperformed at the box office.
They argue that if she had been so particular about her film choices, she wouldn't have taken on these commercial films that offer no variety.
However, we can't entirely blame Mrunal, as she might have made these choices keeping Telugu cinema in mind, given that she has been doing films sparingly here.
Even then, we have the case of Family Star.
At the end of the day, an actor can't be entirely blamed for a film's failure, as no one can ensure a 100% success rate in the film industry.
