Rao shared that actors wear specially made suits with over 60 reflective markers.
These markers help the cameras track body movements in real time. Before every shoot, the entire stage is carefully calibrated to make sure the motion data is perfect for action scenes and performances.
The interview also showed how the motion data can be directly linked to any 3D character using Unreal Engine.
Directors can quickly preview scenes, change camera angles, adjust environments, and even modify character designs after the shoot without losing the quality of the performance.
Another important part was the facial capture technology, which uses Head Mounted Cameras.
These devices record facial expressions in real time without any delay, letting filmmakers watch how digital characters look and act during the shoot. Even props and virtual cameras are tracked digitally to give full control over the cinematic experience.
CV Rao said that while AI tools are becoming more popular, top filmmakers still choose precision-driven motion capture systems for the best quality and creative freedom.
The Gulte Pro interview gave a rare look behind the scenes at how modern Indian studios are adopting world-class virtual production technology.
