The Telugu film industry is currently going through a tough time, and everyone is openly talking about it.
It's ironic because a small theater owner in a rural area is saying things are tough, and even a big producer like Dil Raju is also commenting on it.
Recently, during a film’s promotional event, Dil Raju admitted that the film industry is in a bad phase.
He said that everyone is struggling to get crowds into theaters.
On the other hand, director Sai Rajesh also shared his thoughts.
He said that industry people are using tricks and gimmicks to attract audiences, but when people finally come to the theaters, they find the content to be weak and not good enough.
Sai Rajesh also revealed that industry insiders sometimes manipulate film ratings and reviews, as well as views and comments.
In his opinion, the audience can't tell the difference between real and fake, which has caused them to stop going to the movies altogether.
In reality, if we look closely at what's happening with audience tastes and preferences, it's a case study on its own.
Firstly, the quality of movies has gone down.
It's been a while since a good film came out that everyone from all walks of life could enjoy together.
The makers are not focusing on the story anymore.
They are only focusing on combinations, OTT deals, and other factors instead of keeping the content strong. Plus, they are making movies just for quick success at the ticket window.
In the past, even small films had good stories and real content.
But now, most films are made based on online trends and social media memes, which don't work at the box office. To make things worse, ticket prices are also making it hard for families to watch new films in theaters.
If this situation continues, the worst is not far away.
The theatrical business may completely die out, and people will start watching films from the comfort of their homes.
