Can Rishab Pull Off This 500Cr Mega Gamble?

Rishab Shetty's big historical movie, The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, is said to be turning into a two-part series with a budget that goes over 500 crores, making it one of the most expensive Indian movies ever planned.

This large-scale project shows how confident the team is in the story and in Rishab's growing popularity across the country after the huge success of Kantara.
But the main question is whether such a big investment comes with a lot of risk.

In recent years, people have seen many movies and shows about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and the Maratha empire.
More recently, stories connected to his legacy, including films about his son Sambhaji Maharaj, have done really well at the box office.

Since the story is already well-known, the makers will need something new and exciting to make the film stand out.
At the same time, this familiarity can also help.Historical dramas about the Maratha empire keep attracting a lot of audience attention, as seen with recent films in the same genre.

The biggest strength is Rishab Shetty himself.
Since Kantara, he has built a strong fan base not just in the South but also in North India. If the film offers powerful storytelling, impressive visuals, and deep emotions, the two-part series might become a big hit.

For now, The Pride of Bharat seems like a high-risk, high-reward move.
It could either change the historical movie genre or face the problem of people getting tired of similar stories. The stakes are really high.
