This approach was shown clearly when the team behind Kalki 2898AD made an animated series called B&B.
They introduced characters like Bhairava and Bujji before the main movie, which helped get people excited about the sci-fi world.
Now, the makers of Baahubali are also following this path with Baahubali: The Eternal War, an anime film set to come out next year.
But the biggest change is happening with producer Dil Raju and director Sukumar.
Dil Raju recently said they're creating a new animated world based on the character Arya, with a fresh story about Allu Arjun's role.
While big, action-heavy stories work well with animation, the real challenge is trying new genres.
Will an animated version of a heartfelt, character-driven love story like Arya have the same impact?
If it works, it could mean Tollywood can tell more emotional, artistic stories. It shows that animation isn't just for big action movies — it can also reach the heart.
