Will Lokesh’s DC Make an Impact in Telugu States?

Tamil filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj is preparing to make his acting debut in a movie called DC.This romantic drama also stars Wamiqa Gabbi and is set to release on August 7, 2026, in Telugu.

Even though DC is a Tamil film, it's expected to do well in Telugu states because Lokesh Kanagaraj is very popular among Telugu audiences.
The buzz has only grown more because he's also directing Allu Arjun's next film.Plus, Anirudh Ravichander's fame and the success of his hit song "Raaga of Love" have added to the excitement.Lokesh has a huge fan following from his previous films like Vikram and Leo, which has made people really curious to see him in a different role.

But DC might have a tough time at the Telugu box office.
The film will compete with two major Telugu releases, with Varun Tej's Korean Kanakaraju being the biggest one.

Varun is looking for a big hit after some recent disappointments and is putting all his hopes on this film.
The trailer has already created a lot of interest, and the unique setting has attracted many moviegoers.

If Korean Kanakaraju gets good reviews, it could become a strong choice for Telugu audiences, especially in areas that love big movies.
Alongside Varun's film, KJQ, starring Sasi Odela, who is the brother of director Srikanth Odela, is also coming out on the same day.

DC has the benefit of Lokesh Kanagaraj's strong name recognition, but the real test will be whether it can beat Korean Kanakaraju and KJQ in the Telugu market.
The August 7 box-office battle is shaping up to be a really exciting one.
