He went to watch the movie Kubera at a theatre in Hyderabad in September 2025.
The movie was supposed to start around 10:35 PM, but the actual screening began nearly 20 minutes late because the theatre showed a long list of advertisements and brand promotions.
Feeling upset about the delay, he went to a consumer court and said the theatre wasted his time by showing so many ads for such a long time.
The consumer court agreed and has now told the theatre to pay ₹25,000 to the moviegoer.
Another ₹50,000 has been ordered to be given to the district consumer bench, making the total amount ₹75,000.
This case has started a new conversation about the habit of showing long ads before movies.
For people who pay for a movie at a specific time, having to watch 20 minutes or more of ads can really make them upset.
