Kona Venkat Calls These Directors ‘Criminals’

Kona Venkat is a well-known writer in the film industry who has created several successful productions.Recently, he has supported Sree Vishnu's movie "Comrade Kalyan," which is performing well at the box office. He has also spoken openly about how some filmmakers spend more money than they should on their films. He used examples to explain his theory and how this behavior is hurting the film business.

Kona Venkat is against directors who film almost three hours of content and then cut out over an hour to make the movie seem like it's two hours long.

He said, "Why film so much and then cut it down?Whatever gets trimmed is a huge waste. It's money that the producer spent, money that belongs to them.Poor planning leads to this, and it happens a lot.I call these people criminals in the film industry, no matter who they are."

Many directors these days don't have a clear vision or know how to turn their ideas into a movie.
As a result, they end up shooting a lot of unnecessary content, which wastes time, effort, and money.

However, Kona has supported some of his assistants who have become directors and are known for completing their films on time.
He said, "For example, Bobby, Harish Shankar, and Shiva Nirvana always plan their films carefully.During the making of 'Ninnu Kori,' we shot 70 percent of the film in the USA in just 31 days with a team of 35 people.Shiva plans his films like that. But many others do wasteful things in the name of making unnecessary content."
