Nivetha Pethuraj is one of the talented actors in the film industry.
She is now in the news for her comments on a dog bite. Last Sunday, she took part in a public awareness event in Chennai where she spoke about the welfare of street dogs.
Speaking at the event, the actress shared her thoughts on how people should not overreact to a dog bite.
“People should not make a big deal out of a dog bite and spread fear.
Right in front of us, there are many cases of animal cruelty that go unnoticed, and no one speaks up about them. It is true that rabies from dog bites is a serious issue. But instead of using that to spread fear, we need to teach people the real solution. Killing street dogs is not the answer. Giving them vaccines and sterilizing them (ABC – Animal Birth Control) is the only lasting solution,” she said, adding that a dog bite is not a big problem.
However, her comments have sparked a new controversy.
Many people are now criticizing the actress for her words, especially since some people want to completely eliminate street dogs. Some political parties have also responded to her comments, taking a jab at her. The criticism has reached the actress, who is known for her quick reactions.
“Honestly, I give credit to all the political parties and leaders for dealing with this mob mentality crowd.
Our country isn’t in trouble because of anything else, but because of the irresponsible citizens who are the real problem,” she wrote.
