The big difference in age between male and female actors has often caused talks on social media before movies come out.
For a long time, some older Tollywood stars have been criticized for being paired with younger actresses. Well-known actors like Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Venkatesh, and Ravi Teja are often pointed out for the age difference with their female co-stars in popular movies.
The debate is back now, as the second single from Nandamuri Balakrishna’s upcoming film Akhanda 2 is about to come out.
In this movie, Balakrishna is paired with Samyuktha Menon, a popular and attractive actress. The makers of the film released a poster showing Balakrishna and Samyuktha in a stylish look. This has once again started a conversation about the age gap between the two actors. Balakrishna is 65 years old, while Samyuktha is 30.
Some people online and even some fans are not happy with this pairing, calling it a bad choice.
They say most of the young actresses are in the same age group as the daughters of these older stars. They believe that the older actors should stop this kind of pairing. This kind of discussion is not new. Chiranjeevi, Ravi Teja, and Venkatesh have all faced similar criticism before.
Even though the age gap creates a lot of talk, it doesn’t seem to affect the movie’s success as long as the general public accepts the content.
So, filmmakers and actors continue to work with younger actresses despite the age difference.
Balakrishna is not the first to face criticism for being with younger heroines.
But it’s said that the song from the film is doing well and there isn’t anything too explicit that would start another debate. SS Thaman is behind the song, and it’s expected to be a crowd-pleaser. The song is set to release on Tuesday evening.
