Nandamuri Balakrishna's much-anticipated sequel 'Akhanda 2', directed by Boyapati Srinu, has been postponed indefinitely just hours before its release due to some financial problems. This has been a big setback for the trade community because 'Akhanda 2' was generating a lot of excitement among audiences due to the popularity of the Balayya-Boyapati team.
With 'Akhanda 2' postponed and no other major movies releasing this week, Ram's 'Andhra King Taluka', which came out last week and got decent reviews, now has another chance to fill the box office gap.
The film received good reviews and mixed word of mouth, but it only performed moderately in its first week. The team also admitted that the positive feedback didn't translate into strong box office numbers.
'Akhanda 2' was expected to dominate all mass markets with a big release, and trade analysts had predicted that 'Andhra King Taluka' might end its theatrical run underperforming.
But the last-minute delay has turned out to be an unexpected boost for the film. It will now have an extended run this weekend in all areas.
The only concern is that 'Andhra King Taluka' has lost its momentum after the first weekend as audiences are looking forward to 'Akhanda 2' and upcoming Sankranti movies.
The big question now is whether the film will see a resurgence in collections this weekend. That will be clear in the next few days.

Ram's chemistry with Bhagyashri Borse and Upendra's excellent performance were well received by both moviegoers and critics.
