Drishyam is definitely the most successful thriller franchise in Indian cinema.
This is because the first two films were well received and made a lot of money not just in their original language but also in all the other languages they were remade into.
Now, the third part is getting ready.
Director Jeetu Joseph has already finished shooting the Malayalam version quickly. Superstar Mohan Lal is back in the lead role for this crime story. However, the team hasn’t announced the release date yet.
At the same time, the Hindi version starring Ajay Devgn is set to come out on October 2nd next year, as officially announced today.
But there’s still no official news about when the Telugu version will be released.
The lack of a clear release date for the Telugu version puts the makers in a difficult spot.
They can’t just pick a different date because that might give away the story twists from the original film, which could ruin the excitement for Telugu moviegoers after the Malayalam and Hindi versions come out.
If Jeetu Joseph and his team don’t release all three versions at the same time, they’ll have to come up with new story twists for the Telugu version to keep the audience interested.
Otherwise, spoilers will flood social media as soon as the other versions are out, killing the suspense.
Victory Venkatesh, who played the main role in the first two films, is expected to return as the lead in the third part too.
There are reports that Drishyam 3 is planning to release on Dasara 2026.
If that happens, Venkatesh will have to balance his work between Drishyam 3 and Trivikram’s film during the same time. But there is no official confirmation yet, and this is just a possibility for now.
