After the failure of *Akhanda 2*, Balakrishna is quietly working on his next film with Gopichand Malineni. Until recently, there were strong reports suggesting that Balakrishna's much-hyped movie was set for a Sankranthi 2027 release, which would have created a big competition during the festival.
But now, sources close to the industry say something different.
The latest news is that the Balakrishna-Gopichand project is being planned for a much earlier release, likely during Dussehra 2026. This change has come as a surprise to many, especially those in the trade who were already preparing for a big Sankranthi 2027 release.
Interestingly, this shift allows Balayya's film with Harish Shankar to take the Sankranthi 2027 slot as originally planned.
It is said to be a proper Sankranthi-style entertainer.
If this plan goes ahead, it would mean two Balakrishna movies hitting the theaters just three months apart, which is a big challenge for any actor, even someone of his status.
Managing promotion, audience expectations, and box office success in such a short time is going to be tough.
At the same time, Balayya's fans are excited about getting two films in a row.
An official announcement is still pending, but if this happens, Balakrishna is preparing for a busy and action-filled time at the box office. Let's see what happens.
