RGV Undermining the South Industry for Dhurandhar 2

Ranveer Singh’s highly anticipated sequel, *Dhurandhar: The Revenge*, is set to release globally on March 19th.
With high expectations for the sequel, director Ram Gopal Varma, known for his bold and direct opinions, has made some exaggerated comments about its box office success on his X account.

In a recent post, RGV compared *Dhurandhar 2* to an "Asteroid," claiming it could change how box office standards are set and beat the South Indian film industry, which is currently leading Indian cinema.

His post is filled with too much hype and over-the-top statements.
While it’s okay to promote *Dhurandhar 2*, his comments seem to downplay the potential of upcoming South Indian films, especially pan-India Telugu movies, which are expected to break many box office records.

Many think RGV is just trying to build more excitement around *Dhurandhar 2* by comparing it to other big upcoming films.
It’s true that the first part of the movie was a huge success, but making these exaggerated comparisons before the film even comes out is unnecessary.

There’s nothing wrong with promoting *Dhurandhar 2*, but RGV should remember that several other Tollywood movies, like *Peddi*, *Varanasi*, *Kalki 2*, *Spirit*, *NTR – Neel movie*, *Fauzi*, *Allu Arjun – Atlee project*, and more, also have the potential to break box office records and create new benchmarks for Indian cinema.
