The teaser shows a village that is dealing with supernatural forces, as explained by Tanikella Bharani's voice-over.
Then Sangeeth comes back to the village as Veeru, after living in the USA. He is friends with Getup Srinu and gets into a lot of funny and unexpected situations. This leads Veeru to discover there's a ghost in the village, and how he deals with it is the main story of the movie.
The film follows a standard horror comedy structure, but it feels fresh because of the visuals and the cast.
Nayana Sarika is playing the female lead, and the music is done by Anudeep Dev. It's been a while since Telugu cinema had a horror comedy, and if Rakasa is successful, it could bring back interest in the genre. After the success of Kishkindhapuri, there's a clear interest in the horror genre.
Rakasa will be released in theaters on April 3rd, 2026.
