This news comes after the film had trouble getting shown in theaters in Bengal during its nationwide release in 2025.
Agnihotri, who is known for making films that deal with politics, like The Kashmir Files, said that theater owners in Bengal were being pushed not to show the movie.
He also said that there were many FIRs (first information reports) and political resistance that made it hard for the film to be shown under the previous government led by Mamata Banerjee.
After the BJP won the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections, Agnihotri shared the release date on social media and thanked people who supported the film being shown in the state.
The film looks at events connected to Direct Action Day and the Noakhali riots.
It is one of Agnihotri's most talked-about projects.
Even though the film has faced a lot of criticism, its supporters believe it shows an important part of history that people should see.
